Using StareLock

Solutions to common issues users may encounter. Includes diagnosis tips and recommended fixes to ensure a smooth experience.

Apply StareLock to any layer to enable automatic target-based rotation.

• Select a layer
• Apply the StareLock preset
• Assign a target layer using the Look control
• Enable Active
• Adjust Offset if needed

The layer will now rotate dynamically to face the target.

Controls

  1. Active
    Enables or disables the system
    • On → rotation follows the target
    • Off → original rotation is preserved

  2. Look
    Defines the target layer
    • Required for the system to function
    • Supports both 2D and 3D layers

  3. Offset
    Adjusts final rotation
    • Used to fine-tune alignment
    • Helps correct default facing direction

Target System

StareLock links a layer’s rotation to the position of a target layer.

As the target moves, the angle is recalculated in real time, creating a responsive look-at behavior without additional keyframes.

Use Cases

• Character eye direction and gaze control
• Objects tracking another object
• UI elements reacting to cursor or pointer
• Direction-based motion graphics
• Simple automated look-at setups
