Link Data

Solutions to common issues users may encounter. Includes diagnosis tips and recommended fixes to ensure a smooth experience.

What It Does

The Link Data button connects your Syncface Master layer to a selected Syncface Data layer.
This allows your character’s mouth to animate accurately in sync with the audio.

Key Benefits

  • Manually connects characters to animation data

  • Supports multiple characters with separate data layers

  • Fixes broken connections when automatic linking fails

  • Offers more control in complex animation workflows

How To Use It

  1. Select your Syncface Master layer in the composition

  2. Click the Link Data button in the Syncface panel

  3. Choose the appropriate Syncface Data layer from the dropdown

  4. Click OK to confirm the link

  5. Your character should now respond to the selected data layer

Use this feature anytime you want to reassign or fix a link between character and audio data.

When To Use It

Multiple Characters
When your scene has more than one character, you can generate a separate data layer for each voice and link them individually.

Renamed Layers
If you rename the Syncface Master layer or move it into a different composition, the automatic linking will break.

Use Link Data to restore the connection manually.

Manual Synchronization
You may want to manually assign specific data layers to characters for creative control, especially in scenes with complex dialogue.

You can also link a single Syncface Data layer to multiple characters if they need to share identical lip-sync animations.
