What It Does
The Import button brings your character’s lip shapes from Adobe Illustrator into After Effects.
It creates a special layer called Syncface Master, which becomes your animated character in the composition.

How To Use It
Prepare your character in Adobe Illustrator using the Syncface template
In After Effects, create a new composition
Click the Import .ai button in the Syncface panel
Browse for your saved
.ai
file and select itA new layer called Syncface Master will appear in your composition
The Syncface Master layer is essential for linking animation data. Keep it as-is unless you plan to relink it manually.

Create all 10 required lip shapes to ensure smooth animation
Save your file with
Ctrl+S
and give it a clear, memorable name
We recommend using all 10 visemes — even if some look similar — to improve lip sync accuracy and expression.
Tips & Tricks
Important: Do not rename the Syncface Master layer. Renaming it may break the automatic linking system.
If you need to rename it, use the Link Data function to reconnect everything manually.

Maintain proportions: Keep size and alignment consistent across all shapes
