BringScript may fail to connect or respond if there are network-related problems.

Symptoms

• “Connection Failed” message appears

• Script generation is delayed or does not work

Steps to Resolve

• Check your internet connection
  Make sure you’re online and using a stable connection.

If you're on a corporate or school network, proxy settings or restrictions may block BringScript.

• Review firewall settings
  Security software may block BringScript or After Effects from accessing the internet.
  Allow both apps through your firewall or antivirus settings.

2. API Key Problems

Issues with your API key can stop scripts from generating or working properly.

Symptoms

• “Invalid API Key” error

• Some commands generate no script or fail unexpectedly

Steps to Resolve

• Verify your API key
  Double-check the key you entered is active and correct.

You can confirm this on your Gemini or OpenRouter account.

• Check your credits
  Ensure your selected provider has sufficient credits or quota.
  Visit your provider’s dashboard for usage details.

• Try switching API providers
  Switch between Gemini and OpenRouter to troubleshoot issues with a specific provider.

3. Script Execution Failures

Even if a script is generated, it may not execute correctly in After Effects.

Symptoms

• Script fails after clicking “Execute”

• Nothing happens, or an error dialog appears

Steps to Resolve

• Click “Fix Error”
  Use the Fix Error button in BringScript. It detects and resolves common issues like missing semicolons or bad syntax.

• Check your After Effects version
  Make sure your version is supported.

Older or beta versions of After Effects might cause compatibility issues.

• Always preview the script first
  Use the Preview feature before executing the script to spot potential issues early.

4. License Management

Problems can occur when transferring BringScript to a new device.

Symptoms

• License won’t activate on a new machine

• License key issues after reinstalling

Steps to Resolve

• Revoke your old device
  Go to Settings and click Revoke Device to release the license from your current machine.

• Enter your license key again
  After revoking, re-enter your license key on the new device.

A new activation token will be issued, and your license will transfer successfully.
